This past Sunday, the Curragh Racecourse played host to its eagerly anticipated Autumn Racing Day, a highlight on the calendar for both racing enthusiasts and families. The event, which brought together the thrill of horse racing and a fun-filled schedule of activities for all ages, was made even more special with the involvement of Bord na Móna Recycling.

A Fantastic Day for Families

Families were treated to engaging children’s activities, including appearances by Bord na Móna’s much-loved mascot, Compo and the return of the ever-popular ‘Guess the Bin’ game, an interactive activity that encouraged children to test their knowledge on waste segregation. By getting children involved in guessing which items go into which bin, Bord na Móna Recycling found a creative way to once again raise awareness about the importance of proper waste management in an engaging manner.

Bord na Móna Recycling Handicap

Racing fans were treated to an exciting line-up of competitive races, including the Bord na Móna Recycling Handicap, where the spotlight was on the winning horse, Tokenomics, trained by David Marnane, with Shane Mackey Brand Marketing Manager at Bord na Móna Recycling, proudly presenting the trophy to the winning team.

Racing, Sustainability, and Community

Bord na Móna Recycling’s involvement in this event showcased our broader mission of promoting sustainable practices and responsible waste management. Our interactive presence not only entertained families but also underscored the importance of recycling at live events, ensuring that attendees left with not only great memories but a renewed sense of responsibility for protecting the environment.

Through sponsorships like the Bord na Móna Recycling Handicap and family-friendly activities, we continue to play a significant role in championing green initiatives across Ireland.
