Collection and Bin Queries

Missed Collection

My bin was not collected, how do I report this?

There may be a number of reasons why your bin was not collected.

If your bin was not collected, please ensure to check that:

  • The correct bin was left out; you can check your collection calendar here.
  • Your bin was not contaminated with waste not suitable for that particular bin. For information on what waste can be put in each bin, click here.
  • Your account is paid up to date.
  • Your bin was left out the night before your collection.

If you can find no reason above for your non collection, please fill in the attached form and a member of our help centre will be in touch.

I made a payment yesterday, why hasn’t my bin been collected?

Payments need to be made 48hours prior to your collection day and any payments made within 48hours of your collection day may have resulted in none collection of your bin. (wording)

Payment cards may take up to three working days to update on your account and therefore may not have been posted to your account in time for your collection.

Why is the Waste Recovery Levy being implemented?

The Irish government have introduced this new levy to further promote and encourage recycling and composting with the core aim to reduce the amount of general waste produced. Currently approximately 40% of waste in Ireland is recycled. The initiative aligns directly with the government’s commitment to promoting sustainable waste management practices and developing a circular economy.

How will the government levy affect me?

On October 1st 2023 the government levy was introduced and applies to all Bord na Móna Recycling customers. The charge is €0.01 (1 cent) per kilo of general waste produced by your household. You will see this on your invoice as Government Waste Recovery Levy. The invoice will be sent to you on a quarterly basis. The Waste Recovery Levy applies to all general waste.
