Strategic Projects Manager

Bord na Móna are recruiting for a Strategic Projects Manager to join our Accelerate Green team on a fixed term basis. This role will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of Bord na Móna’s flagship Accelerate Green Start and Grow programmes for start-up’s and SME’s with innovative sustainable solutions.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Ensure project plans are developed to the highest of standards using recognised project management principles. 
  • Ensure best practice project management process across all aspects of the programmes.  
  • Be fully accountable for project outcome throughout delivery and remain engaged until the project is fully delivered.
  • Accountable for communication, reporting and escalation through all stages of program/project. 
  • Ensuring transparency, effective anticipation and decision making are core responsibilities.
  • Project manage the delivery and expansion of our Accelerate Green Programme working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successive accelerator and pre-accelerator business development programmes aligned to Bord na Móna’s strategic direction.
  • Oversee the execution and promotion of the annual Accelerate Green Conference to showcase the AG companies and demonstrate BnM’s climate solutions positioning in line with budget.
  • Planning
    and execution for relevant press launches and
    pitch events. 
  • Implement approved schedule of activity and engagement to connect with all Accelerate Green companies in a relevant way, bringing BnM value add to strengthen relationship with the companies. 
  • Leverage alumni to advocate for BnM’s positioning and Accelerate Green.
  • Nurture on-going engagement with the wider alumni network and create introductions to relevant and appropriate key decision makers.  
  • Develop and implement relevant comms and PR plan to optimise coverage in Ireland for our Accelerate Green activities and build on the positive reputation invested in to date. 
  • Liaise with Corp Comms and ensure plans are in line with the Invest & Enable strategy and overarching corporate comms plan.
  • Present on the programme to various audiences to promote awareness and reinforce Bord na Móna’s sustainable positioning.  
  • Establish and nurture high-performing supplier and agency relationships to extract best in class planning and delivery. 
  • Brief suppliers and agencies with clear objectives and requirements in line with business strategy, plans and budget. 
  • Manage planning, development, implementation and review processes with suppliers and agencies for each programme/campaign/activity. 
  • Identify key influencers and stakeholders in the wider start-up and accelerator space and foster effective relationships to strengthen the network, knowledge and credibility for BnM.
  • Provide oversight, validation and tracking of programme performance for the company. 
  • Measure and provide detailed analysis of the impact investments and enabled businesses have on direct and indirect employment in the region.
  • Provide high quality, evaluative thinking and evidence
    informed analysis to support strategic decision-making and continuous programme
    effectiveness.
  • Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Hons Degree in a business discipline essential
  • Postgraduate qualification or professionally qualified in Project Management essential.
  • Minimum 5 year post-graduate experience with at least 2+ years in a project management role. 
  • Experience with start-up’s and/or sustainability would be a benefit.
