As 2024 comes to a close, Bord na Móna Recycling would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our loyal and new customers for your unwavering support throughout the year. Together, we have achieved incredible milestones, including raising over €120,000 for national charities and local organisations. This was made possible by your commitment to our services, and we are deeply grateful for the positive impact we have been able to create together.

The Bord na Móna Recycling Community Fund is central to our mission of enhancing the well-being and development of the local communities we serve. We recognise that our success is closely linked to the health and prosperity of these communities. As such, we are committed to reinvesting a portion of our revenue into initiatives that deliver social, cultural, and environmental benefits.

One standout feature of our fund is the donation of 1% of all online payments over €30 made by our domestic customers. Thanks to your contributions, these funds have supported numerous charitable causes throughout 2024.

Our chosen community partner for 2024 was Barretstown, an organisation that provides medically endorsed therapeutic camps and programmes for children with cancer and other serious illnesses. We are proud to have donated a total of €70,000 to Barretstown this year. Additionally, our team had the privilege of participating in Helping Hands Days, preparing the Barretstown campus for campers and ensuring a welcoming environment for children and families.

Supporting Charities Across Ireland

In addition to Barretstown, we have contributed to a diverse range of charities this year, including Midlands Simon Community, Hygiene Hub, Meals on Wheels, Relay for Life, St. Vincent de Paul, Kildare Animal Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, Cuisle Cancer Support and Downs Syndrome Carlow.

Investing in Local Sports

We understand the vital role that sports play in fostering community spirit and well-being. This year, we proudly supported numerous sports clubs and events, including Ardcroney FC, Coolderry GAA, Birr Golf Club, Cortown GAA, Craddockstown Golf Club, Kilcullen AFC, Nenagh Ormond RFC, Kildare Glyders, Athgarvan Pitch & Putt Club, Ryston Pitch and Putt Club, Balbriggan Cricket Club, Rosslare Community & Sports Centre, Bohermeen Cycling Club, Aughrim GAA, Coolderry GAA, Buccaneers RFC, Moneygall FC and Kildare GAA.

Strengthening Local Communities

Beyond charities and sports, we also contributed to various community initiatives by providing waste management services and sponsorships. Highlights include The Dublin Pride Run, Lusk Summer Festival, June Fest, Laois Clean-Up Week, Old Fort Quarter Festival, Moynalty Steam Threshing, Laois Youth Services, Tullamore Show, Durrow Tidy Towns, Darkness into Light, Lusk Clean Action Group and Kolbe Special School

As we reflect on 2024, we are immensely proud of the collective impact we’ve made with your help. We look forward to another year of supporting our local communities, fostering partnerships, and driving positive change. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey—here’s to an even more impactful 2025!
