As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting community initiatives and fostering a love for sport, Bord na Móna Recycling was proud to sponsor the 2024 Irish Pitch and Putt Open. The tournament took place at the Ryston Sports & Social Club in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, on the 20th and 21st of July.

The Irish Pitch and Putt Open attracted 150 of the finest pitch and putt players from across Ireland and beyond. While the majority of competitors came from various clubs throughout Ireland, the tournament will also welcomed a diverse group of international players from Britain, Galicia, Catalonia, the Netherlands, and the Basque Country.

We were specifically honored to sponsor Hole 1, a starting point that set the stage for what was an exciting and challenging competition. Our sponsorship reflects our dedication to promoting active lifestyles and sustainable practices within our communities.

This year’s event held special significance as the new Irish Open Champion was awarded a trophy named in honor of the late Shane Murphy of Rocklodge and Raffeen Creek. Shane Murphy’s legacy in the pitch and putt community is profound, and it is fitting that the champion’s trophy bears his name, serving as a reminder of his contributions to the sport.

At Bord na Móna Recycling, we believe in the importance of sustainability both on and off the course. Our sponsorship of this event aligns with our mission to support eco-friendly practices and community engagement. We are committed to ensuring that our activities, including this sponsorship, contribute positively to the environment and the local community.
